Lord Tetrarch When you consider the definition of a Hedge Wizard - a self taught wizard learning magic from found books and experience, the theme of the discography begins to make a lot of sense. One might conjure the idea of a lone adolescent. They are imagining the makeshift varieties of paths that lie ahead, ingesting odd media, casting spells with keyboards. Outside the window of a messy candlelit bedroom are moonlit silhouettes of tattered craftsman houses. They appear as fortresses if you squint enough. Favorite track: Aspiring Hero.

MarsDragoner Beautiful and evocative album crafted with much love. Hedge Wizard continues the dust-covered and ancient path of the debut to bring forth a delicately layered album in a slightly more modern garment. Neighborwoods possesses a very distinct and inventive atmosphere to take the listener on a journey far away from reality. The marvellous cover completes the magickal enigma. This truly is an artifatct from forgotten times, roaming the realms of alchemy, necromancy, and eclectic encounters. Favorite track: Nightcap.

Dark Avenger Neighborwoods is a logical continuation of the debut musically, while also retaining some of the Low Fantasy weird tales themes found on Local Portal. Otherworldly fantasy playing out against a nostalgic real world backdrop, like a modern day Lord Dunsany story. While every other DS project takes us to another world, Hedge Wizard finds magic in the mundane, where fantasy and reality converge. Unique, strange, mystical, and full of power! Favorite track: Neighborwoods.

maddesthatter This is the soundtrack to my suburban childhood dreams. This is roaming the backyard wilds and braving the hidden creeks and culs-de-sac, fierce battles with stick held high (and only ever representing medieval weaponry or a wizard staff, never a gun because then you have to argue over who got hit). The strings and effects are impeccable, but with subtle new evolutions that make this release worth the wait. Though it may be new, I can't help but feel I grew up with this album. Favorite track: Neighborwoods.
